Starting Rating

Every new player starts at 1200. This is the global standard starting ELO. Separate ratings for Bullet, Blitz, and Rapid.

ELO System

Win = gain points. Lose = lose points. Beat a stronger player = gain more. Lose to a weaker player = lose more. The formula balances expected vs actual result.

K-Factor

K=32 for most games. A single game can change your rating by up to ±32 points. Draws split points based on expected outcome.

What Counts

Only online matchmaking games affect your rating. Games vs Computer or friend links are unrated.
